- The use of a protective duvet cover is strongly recommended and required to validate manufacturer's extended warranty. Similar to how a pillowcase is to used to provide a protective barrier for your pillow, the duvet cover acts as a stylish ultra-soft casing, which reduces the frequency of washes need for your comforter.
